TOURIST VISITOR VISAS
If you are not eligible or do not wish to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) and you are going to visit Australia for tourism purposes, you will need to apply for a Visitor visa at the Australian Visa Services (AVS) office in Taipei.
The information below has been designed to assist you in lodging a Visitor visa at AVS.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
(1)Taiwan Passport holders: Valid passport for each person included in the application if lodged in person. If lodged by mail provide a certified copy of passport.If you are not a Taiwan passport holders, and do not hold an ETA eligible passport, you should provide a valid passport with application
(2) Completed and signed application form (Form 48). If you are not a Taiwan passport holder, and do not hold an ETA eligible passport, you should complete Form 48R instead of Form 48;
(3) Visa application charge. Payment of the visa application charge must be in New Taiwan Dollars. Australian Visa Services does not accept payment in Australian Dollars. For the current amount and payment methods see Fees;
(4) Proposed travel itinerary (or copy of airline ticket if available);
(5) Original and one photo copy of Taiwan ID card or Alien Residence Card (ARC);
(6) Applicants who are currently employed must provide an employment certificate, statement from current employer or evidence of leave. Applicants who are not currently employed must provide evidence of funds (bank statement, copy of bank book etc);
(7) Applicants who are under 18 years of age must provide an original copy of their household register and a letter from parents/guardians giving consent for their travel;
(8) Applicants over 75 years of age must provide evidence of adequate overseas health insurance cover for the period of intended stay in Australia;
(9) If you are required to undergo a medical examination you will be sent a letter requesting you to go to our panel doctor. You must take this letter with you to the doctor as the HAP ID contained in the letter is needed for your medical examination. (10) Applications who intend to stay in Australia for 6 months or longer, must provide a written statement supporting their application;
Depending on your circumstances, you may also be requested to provide other documents to assist in the assessment of your application. Your case officer will advise you if any of these documents are required.
AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME
Ten working days. If you are required to undergo a medical examination, the average processing time could be up to ten working days.
VISA VALIDITY
Up to 4 years validity allowing single or multiple entries, and allowing stays of three, six or twelve months on each entry.
