Student Visa Checklist for Taiwan Passport Holders
If your study is classified as Assessment Level 1 (which is determined by the passport you hold and the education sector for which you are seeking a visa) you can apply for a Student visa online on the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) at Online Students. If you do not wish to apply online, or are not eligible to apply online, you may use this checklist to lodge an application at Australian Visa Services in Taipei.
NOTE: You must declare all family members on your application form, even if they do not plan to travel with you to Australia. If you do not do this, your family members will not be eligible to apply to join you after you have started your course in Australia.
As at 1 July 2007, Taiwan passport holders are all considered as Assessment Level 1 except for applicants who are undertaking a course in the Vocational Education and Training Sector (subclass 572). More information on Student visa Assessment Levels is available on the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship website.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications may be sent by mail, lodged personally or by your representative.
Note: If you wish to lodge your application by mail, and would like to have your passport returned by mail, please download and attach to your application the "Authorisation to use the Taiwan Post domestic express service" form. For further information about this service, please see: Notice regarding passport collection methods.
