Studying in Australia
Student Dependent Checklist
If you wish to apply to join a family member who is in Australia as the holder of a Student visa, you will need to apply for the same Student visa subclass as your family member. To be granted a Student visa due to your relationship with a nominating student, you must be the partner of the student (including de-facto partner), or the child of the nominating student or their partner.
NOTE: If you were a family member of the Student visa holder at the time of grant of their Student visa and you were not declared as a family member on the application form, you are ineligible to apply for a Student dependent visa.
If you wish to study in Australia for more than 3 months, you should apply for your own Student visa (ie. as the ‘primary applicant’).
